Bardstown Fire responds to reported vehicle fire on Cypress Street

Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, 11:11 z.m. — A fire in the passenger compartment of a vehicle parked next to a house was kept from spreading to the home Monday morning through quick action by the Bardstown Fire Department.

Firefighters received a call about 11:11 a.m. of a reported vehicle fire in the 100 block of Cypress Street. When firefighters arrived they reported heavy fire in the passenger compartment. Firefighters worked to quickly knock down the fire and prevented damage to the home next to the vehicle. Firefighters were on scene for 20 minutes.
