James Walter ‘Jim’ Mattingly, Jr. 66, Lebanon

James Walter “Jim” Mattingly, Jr., 66, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born July 23, 1945 in Marion County, he was a dedicated dairy farmer and member of Pleasant Run Community Church. He was a former school bus driver and member of the U.S. Army Reserve.

He died with his son, James Walter “Jamie” Mattingly III. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Mattingly and two infant siblings, Michael Wayne and Janice Faye Mattingly

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Blandford Mattingly; a son, Troy (Glenda) Mattingly of Lebanon; three daughters, Sherri (Todd) Wilson of Lebanon, Terri Thomas of Calvary, Tonya (Robbie) Deering of Mackville; a brother, Larry Mattingly of Loretto; five sisters, Lucy (Bud) Dawson of Louisville, Darlene (Clifford) Stump, Margie Mattingly and Brenda (Kelly) Napper, all of Lebanon and Vickie (Johnny) Colette of Corbin; his father, James Walter “Jim” Mattingly, Sr. of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren one great-granddaughter.

Joint funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Pleasant Run Community Church, 4625 Short Line Pike, Lebanon, with burial in the church cemetery. Keith Wheatley will officiate. A bereavement meal will follow at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, 549 N. Spalding Avenue, Lebanon.

Pallbearers are Troy Mattingly, Mason Wilson, Jerrid Blandford, Brennan Blandford, Cameron Deering and Mark Clark.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.

Memorial Donations may go to Pleasant Run Community Church.
