Obituary: Lisa Ann Masterson Whitener, 53, Mount Washington
Lisa Ann Masterson Whitener, 53, of Mount Washington, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, with her loving husband by her side. She was born Dec. 26, 1969, in Lebanon. She graduated from Marion County High School in 1987 and worked for the last eight years at Balfour in Louisville. She was a Catholic by faith. She enjoyed her yearly trips to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, reading Debbie Macomber and Nicholas Sparks novels, all things Christmas, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Donald Masterson; her grandparents, Tyler and Emma Morris, Nolan and Ruth Masterson and Marvin and Dorothy Medley; and two cousins, Jason Morris and Evan Douglas.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Michael “Mike” Whitener; her parents, Betty and Jim Medley of Springfield; one sister, Donna Burba (Alan) of Bardstown; three brothers, Jerry Medley and Ken Medley (Debi), both of Mount Washington and Craig Medley (Kathy) of Springfield; her mother-in-law, Barbara Whitener; her nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at St. Rose Priory Church in Springfield with the Rev. Edmund Ditton O.P. officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. The funeral will be livestreamed on the Mattingly Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be 3-8 pm Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023 at the Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Pallbearers are cousins, Kevin, Jimmy, Greg, John Paul and John Louis Morris and Chris Boone. Her remaining cousins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
