Obituary: John Blevins, 79, Bardstown
John Blevins, 79, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Rossville, Ga.
He was an avid hunter and a family man. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he was Special Forces and served during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in West Berlin, Germany during the Cold War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Blevins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Blevins; four sons, Mark (Sherry) Blevins and Matthew (Jami) Blevins, both of Bardstown, Scott (Alison) Blevins of Charlestown, Ind., and Daniel Blevins of Louisville; one sister, Yvonne Tomacic; one brother, Butch Fortin; four grandchildren, Sean Blevins, Shelly Blevins-Stratton, Wyatt Blevins, and Luke Blevins; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Blevins-Stratton;
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery.
Visitation is noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, and 9-11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
