Woman trapped several hours after early morning Boston Road crash

Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, 9:04 a.m. — A 51-year-old Hardin County woman suffered minor injures Tuesday morning when her vehicle left the roadway and traveled down an embankment and rolled over into some trees in the 9000 block of Boston Road between Bardstown and Boston.

The victim said the single-vehicle crash happened between 3 and 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. The woman was unable to get out of the vehicle, which was not visible from the roadway. She was trapped inside her vehicle for approximately four hours before she was discovered by first responders.

The Boston and Bardstown Fire departments were summoned to help extricate the woman from the vehicle. The victim was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment by Nelson County EMS.
