Obituary: David Glenn Newton, 72, Bardstown
David Glenn Newton, 72, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1950, in Bardstown to the late James Adrian and Mary Lil Beam Newton.
He was a retired automotive sales representative. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church where he served on the bereavement committee. He loved his family, was an avid UK football and basketball fan, and he enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of American Legion Post 42.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Newton.
He is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Richie) Berry of Bardstown and Sarah (Bobby) Rives of Cox’s Creek; one son, Haydon (Andrea) Newton of Bardstown; seven sisters, Phyllis Hess of Orlando, Fla., Donna Marie Wayne, Cathy Newton and Vicki (Kenny) Rausch, all of Louisville, Karen (Chuck) Parrish and Debbie (John) Ballard, both of Bardstown, and Patti (John) Jones of Baltimore; three brothers, John (Dean) Newton of Bardstown, Gary (Connie) Newton of Elizabethtown and Mark Newton of Lebanon; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday evening.
