Obituary: Juanita Pardue, 95, Bardstown

Juanita Pardue, 95, of Bardstown, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Sansbury Care Center in Springfield following a short illness. She was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Park City. She was the daughter of the late Comer and Allean Denton. She was the oldest of three children.

She and her late husband, Lestrel Brown “Brownie” Pardue, moved to Bardstown after their marriage in 1949. She joined the Methodist Church and started their family a few years later. She trained as a hair stylist, but gave up her career to take care of her family. She still managed to help her husband with the furniture refinishing and woodworking business. At the time of her death, she was the longest attending member of the Bardstown United Methodist Church. She lived her life for her family and friends. Those that have visited her home have seen the walls of photos of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Witherspoon; and one brother, David Denton.

She is survived by four children, Gayle Jackson (Tom), Carlene Ballard (Chris), Deanna Newton (Kevin), and Cidney Pardue (Janie); eight grandchildren, Anthony Jackson, Andy Jackson, Leticia Filiatreau, Lacey Cunningham, John Hammond, Megan Augsburg, Sara Stinnett, and Michael Pardue; and 18 great-grandchildren, Haley Huddleston, Ally Jackson, Skylar Jackson, Luke Jackson, Parker Jackson, Cole Jackson, Conner Jackson, Emma Filiatreau, Sara Beth Filiatreau, Tommy Filiatreau, John Paul Filiatreau, Brennan Cunningham, Liam Cunningham, Gavin Cunningham, Kaylee Augsburg, Joshua Augsburg, Declan Stinnett and Lily Jo Stinnett.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Bardstown United Methodist Church with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bardstown United Methodist Church.
