Obituary: Charlotte Ann Mitchel Gill, 73, New Haven

Charlotte Ann Mitchel Gill, 73, of New Haven, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born July 25, 1949, in Chaplin to the late Ernest Jr. and Almeda Tipton Mitchell.

She was a baptist by faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a cook for more than 10 years, and worked for 25 years at Bird & Son.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boone “Bobby” Gill; one stepson, Robert David Gill; one stepgranddaughter, Kimberly Nicole “Nickki” Gill; one sister, Theresa Tipton; one great-great-granddaughter, Cali Sheldon.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Ann (Scott) Smith of Bardstown and Carol Renee (Danny) Ferguson of New Haven; one son, Brian Dale Calvert of New Haven; one sister, Shelia Yates of Chaplin; one brother, Glenn D. “Doug” Mitchell of Chaplin; six grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Ashley Smith, Autumn Smith, Carley Jennings, Christy Ferguson and Carrie Ferguson; five stepgrandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Savannah Peralta, Christopher Morrison, Alex Morrison, and Taylor Curtsinger; five great-grandchildren, Summer Parnell, Arabella Parnell, Harper Jennings, Mason Barnes, and Oakley Smith; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with her wishes cremation was chosen.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
