Obituary: Bobbie Jean Hall, 82, Bardstown

Bobbie Jean Hall, 82, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 21, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Robert and Mildred Burroughs Simmons. She was the former treasurer for the Bardstown Board of Education. She loved to work in her garden and take care of her yard, which she took pride in the time she spent keeping the outside manicured. She loved to entertain and invite people over to sit outside and have a bourbon and coke and listen to Willie Nelson. In her younger days she loved to dance and be with people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Richter; and her companion, Ed White.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy; one daughter-in-law, Amber Hall of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Lauren “Sis” White; two grandchildren, Alex (Megan) Hall and Hayden Tuten; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hall, Jayden Salyers and Ryan Salyers; her extended family, Mackenzie Vaughn, Cayleigh Vaughn, Michael Vaughn and Alistair Leger; and her 15-year-old cat. “Punkin.”

Visitation is 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
