Video: NC school board chair adjourns meeting right after it began

Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, — The Nelson County Board of Education held a special-called meeting Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, in order to approve construction bonds for the Thomas Nelson High School community campus project. However, board chair Diane Berry adjourned the meeting moments after it began — the displeasure of the majority of those in attendance. She and board members David Norman and Amanda Deaton left the meeting, while board members Tracy Bowling and Damon Jackey stayed and discussed the situation with the audience for another 20-plus minutes.
