Obituary: James ‘Freddy’ Spalding, 72, Bardstown
James “Freddy” Spalding, 72, of Bardstown, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Oakwood Vista Community in Somerset. He was born Sept. 6, 1950, in Bardstown. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he liked to help out for bereavement meals. He enjoyed watching the TV shows Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and The Price is Right, and he loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Irene Spalding; one sisters, Dolores Mudd; and two brothers, Bobby Spalding and Martin Spalding.
He is survived by three sisters, Jean (Rick) King and Anna Gordon, both of Bardstown, and Carmel (Ronald) Lewis of Bloomfield; three brothers, Mark (Rita) Spalding and Herman (Veda) Spalding both of Bardstown, and Brad (Marti) Spalding of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Michael Martin officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at Barlow Funeral Home with a Tuesday evening prayer service.
