Obituary: Maggie Louise LeRoy, 57, New Haven
Maggie Louise LeRoy, 57, of New Haven, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at her home. She was a bus driver for the LaRue County School System, a former teacher at Victory Christian Academy in Louisville, a foster parent, a children’s and youth minister at Beechgrove Baptist Church, and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and JoAnn Hutchins; and one brother, Joseph R. Hutchins.
She is survived by her loving husband, John LeRoy; one daughter, Tammy McElvain-Swillinger (Zachary); one son, David J. LeRoy (Eva Catherine); three brothers, Leo Hutchins (Charlotte), Jimmy Dean, and Daniel Worner; two granddaughters, Izabella Catherine Hutchins and Jillian Leila McElvain; a cousin who was like her sister, Tammy Renee Dillinger; and her lifelong best friend, Tammy Sue Doty.
The funeral is noon Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with cremation to follow.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Barktown Rescue in Bardstown.
The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
