Northeast Nelson Fire investigates report of tree on fire on BG Parkway

Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, 7:07 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called to the area of the 32 mile marker on the eastbound side of the Blue Grass Parkway for a report of a tree on fire. The fire was a controlled burn of debris from the road construction that had spread. Firefighters said they had just over an acre of fire when they began work to get the fire under control.
