Obituary: Marcella Faye Satterly Hood, 84, Bloomfield
Marcella Faye Satterly Hood, 84, of Bloomfield, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2023. She was the wife of James Everett Hood. She was born in Anderson County Nov. 4, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Orthey Edgar Satterly and Vila Fay Corn Satterly.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Chaplin Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU, and worked with bible school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah Mae Satterly Cook; and two brothers, James Truman Satterly and Wesley Gilbert “Gil” Satterly.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Everett Hood; one daughter, Pam (Carl, Jr.) Bruner of Nicholasville; one son, Everett G. (Deborah) Hood of Chaplin; one brother, Harrison D. (Betty J.) Satterly of Glasgow; two grandsons, Joe (Joanne) Hood and Justin Boone; three great-grandchildren, Colin Hood, Zachary Hood, and Tyler Boone; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Chaplin Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Paul Satterly and Bro. Gene Smith officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Friday and after 9 AM until time of service Saturday at Chaplin Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Boone, Joe Hood, Bobby Chesser, Ricky Cook, Mike Shields, and Larry Scott.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg.
