Nelson County under flood warning due to heavy rains until 8:45 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 — Nelson County is now under a Flood Warning until 8:45 p.m. this evening.

Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen, and the threat of flooding will remain in low-lying areas and in areas that typically flood during heavy rains. An additional 1 inch of rain can be expected as the remains of the rain storm passes through the area.

If driving and you approached a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
