Obituary: Joseph Lee ‘Joe’ Norman, 83, New Haven

Joseph Lee “Joe” Norman, 83, of New Haven, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at his home. He was born April 18, 1939, in New Haven. He was a retired employee of Glasscock Log and Lumber in Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Tee and Dora O’Neal Norman; six sisters, Mary Norman, Pearl Walker, Beatrice Norman, Muzetta Price, Dora Norris and Rose Ellen Norman; five brothers, Harry Thomas Norman, Orville Norman, Otis Norman, Percy Norman and Melvin Norman; and three half-siblings, Lloyd Franklin Norman, Hattie Glass, and infant Hershal Herman Norman.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Settles (Casey) of Bardstown; two sisters, Wanda Mattingly of New Haven and Juanita Dalton of Elizabethtown; two brothers, James Norman (Kathleen) and Johnny Norman (Judy), both of New Haven; and one granddaughter, Alessia Ember Settles.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with Pastor Darrell Goodlett of the Nelson County Baptist Church officiating. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at the funeral home.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
