Obituary: Wayne Edward Dobson, 85, Hodgenville
Wayne Edward Dobson, 85, of Hodgenville, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 15, 1937, to the late Harvey Louis and Agnes Mitchel Shofner Dobson.
He was an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church. He was a lifetime dairy farmer. He was the past president of the LaRue County Farm Bureau. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and also a licensed auctioneer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittaney Dobson; two brothers, William Lee Dobson Sr. and Lonnie Louis Dobson; and two sisters, Jewell Dobson Marasa and Gennevie Dobson.
He is survived by his wife of 63, years Anna Lee Tucker Dobson of Hodgenville; three sons, Dale Wayne (Debra) Dobson, Dennis Lee (Missy) Dobson and Darrell Robert (Shelia) Dobson, all of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, Bobby (Shanna) Dobson, Hillary (Chad) Logsdon, Kasey Dobson, Sydney Dobson, Zack (Bailey) Dobson, Amanda Meredith and Michelle Gibson; six great-grandchildren, Gage Logsdon, Sophie Logsdon, Brylee Dobson, Laynee Dobson, Miles Dobson, Matthew Gibson, and one on the way.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, with Bro. Tim McGuire and Marty Fulkerson officiating with burial in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel in Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.
