Obituary: Glen Hicks, 70, Bardstown

Glen Hicks, 70, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Nelson County to the late Junior and Louise Jackson Hicks. He was a retired employee of Barton Distillery in Bardstown with more than 40 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, JoAnn Miles Hicks; one son, Scott Glen Hicks (Lauren) of Cox’s Creek; three sisters, Janice Unseld of Bardstown and Tammy Mattingly (Jimmy) and Brenda Hicks, all of Holy Cross; four brothers, Ralph Hicks of Bardstown, Ronnie Hicks (Pat) and Keith Hicks, all of Holy Cross, and Dennis Hicks of Shepherdsville; and two grandchildren, Darian Brooke Crabtree (Grant) of Louisville and Kaiden Lane Hicks at home;

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Goodin officiating. Burial is in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto, with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorial donations may go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Pallbearers are Neal Hicks, Brent Webb, Mike Unseld, Jeff Unseld, Jason Crawford and Logan Mattingly; Honorary Pallbearers are Denny Clark and Troy Rogers.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
