Obituary: Mary Frances Mudd Lilly, 83, formerly of Springfield
Mary Frances Mudd Lilly, 83, of Louisville, formerly of Springfield, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023 at The Springs of Stonybrook. She was the daughter of Bernard and Ursula Mudd of Springfield, and one of 10 children. She graduated from St. Catherine Academy in May 1957 after which she moved to Louisville and took a job with Montgomery Chevrolet. She soon met John Lilly and married him on September 10, 1960, at St. Rose Priory in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lilly; her parents; and three sisters, Hattie Lou Riggs, Rita Clements, and Mary Virginia Mudd.
Survivors include two her daughters, Patricia Wilkinson (Gary) of Cape Coral, Fla., and Lori Zaretzky (Mike) of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Mike Lilly of Louisville;
three sisters, Cathy New, Emily Mattingly and Brenda Hulker; three brothers, Joe Howard Mudd, Ronald Mudd, and Anthony Mudd; three grandchildren, Addy Zaretzky, Joe Zaretzky and Jack Zaretzky; several nieces and nephews; and all members of the Lilly family who loved her.
The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at St. Gabriel Church, 5505 Bardstown Road in Louisville with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at the Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road in Louisville.
