Obituary: Mary Dorothy McDonald, 88, formerly of Bardstown
Mary Dorothy McDonald, 88, formerly of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Franciscan Health Care Center in Louisville. She was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Bardstown to the late Curtis James and Ann Jeanette Coy Cecil. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McDonald; one daughter, Charlene Davis; and five siblings, Carmel Cecil Elmore, James C. Cecil Jr., George R. Cecil, Dr. Fred J. Cecil and Jean Bowling.
She is survived by one daughter, Alicia Wetherbee of Louisville; one son, James E. (Carrie) McDonald of Cox’s Creek; one sister, Katherine “Kitty” Ritchie of Horse Cave; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery,.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
