Letter: Judge-Executive appreciates area support against House Bill 5

To the editor,

The press conference that Nelson County hosted on Monday evening was a wonderful example of bi-partisan efforts to bring our voices to Frankfort! I would like to thank the leaders from Nelson County and from across the Commonwealth that gathered in our courtroom to explain how House Bill 5 will impact our communities and, in the end, the taxpayers of our Commonwealth.

Thank you to the many Commonwealth groups that are in opposition to this bill, including KACo, Ky Association of Firefighters, Sheriff’s Association, County Clerk Association, League of Cities, and so many more!

We call upon House Speaker David Osborne and Bill Sponsor Jason Petrie to let us have a seat at the table to find a compromise that will work for our communities! In addition, we encourage KDA President, Eric Gregory, to speak with the small communities that directly support distilleries with their infrastructure, workforce, and emergency services!
