Obituary: John Ronnie Hoback, 70, of Bardstown, formerly of New Haven
John Ronnie Hoback, 70, of Bardstown, formerly of New Haven, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his home in Bardstown surrounded by family.

He was born Jan. 11, 1953, in New Haven to the late John Walter and Hallie Lee Price Hoback. He was a Christian by faith. He was a loving husband, father, and brother, He loved being a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Carol “Sis´ Dewitt; two brothers, Boss Hoback and Jimmy Hoback; one sister-in-law, Karen Donahue Riggs; one brother-in-law, David Donahue; his in-laws, Shirley Marie Clark and Joseph Adam “Jody” Donahue; and his dog, Jo Jo .
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shelvy D. Donahue Hoback of Bardstown; one daughter, Hallie Marie (Tony Kennedy) Hoback of New Haven; three sisters, Mary Ann Newton of New Haven, Theresa Wells of Elizabethtown, and Lois ( Troy) McNear of Hodgenville; a special friend, Boyd Gray of Boston; his dog, John Toby Hoback; two grand-dogs, Bear and Chuckie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is noon Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel, with Bro. Stephan Taylor officiating. Burial is in the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Gleanings.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the funeral home.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
