Obituary: Charles Everett Coulter, 78, Bardstown

Charles Everett Coulter, 78, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center in Louisville. He was born July 8, 1944, in Cox’s Creek to Everett and Ann Elizabeth Downs Coulter.

He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a former member of the Kentucky National Guard Battery C and served in Vietnam. He was a former employee of Jim Beam Distillery. He loved auctions, old cars, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events as well as farming and working in the yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ann Elizabeth Downs Coulter.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Hutchins Coulter; one daughter, Melissa (Mark) Filiatreau of Cox’s Creek; two sons, Chad (Katrina) Coulter and Kevin Coulter, both of Bardstown; two sisters, Elizabeth (Joe Ray) Hahn of Chaplin and Margaret (Tommy) Osborne of Bardstown; one brother, Ricky (Donna) Coulter of Bardstown; and six grandchildren, Garrett, Elliott, and Katie Filiatreau, Keegan, Paxton and C.J. Coulter

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at the funeral home with a 5 p.m. Sunday prayer service.

The family requests that contributions take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
