Obituary: Francis ‘Leo’ Walker, 93, Bardstown

Francis “Leo” Walker, 93, of Bardstown, died Monday, March 6, 2023, at Windsor Gardens. He was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Bardstown. He was a retired Tool & Dye worker for General Electric and a veteran of the U.S. Army and 113th Ordnance Company KY National Guard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Thomas Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Cruse Walker; one son, Michael “Mike” Walker; his parents, Adrian and Anna Marie Walker; two sisters, Loretta Walker Whitehouse and Rose Ann Walker Jones; and two brothers, Bill Walker, and Edwin Charles “Boo” Walker.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Lisa (Travis) Dones, and Stacie Stevens; seven grandchildren, Chase Snellen, Caden Snellen, Grace Dones, Reese Dones, and three of Stacie’s children, Drew, Alex, and Megan; one sister, Jane Walker O’Keefe of Texas; one brother, Thomas L. Walker of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Reeves officiating.

Visitation is 8:30-10:15 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or Masses.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
