Obituary: Benjamin Lee ‘Ben’ Sauter Sr, 66, Bardstown

Benjamin Lee ‘Ben” Sauter Sr, 66, of Bardstown, died Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his place of work in Brooks. He was born June 3, 1956, in Louisville to the late John Louis and Mary Lee Hutchinson Sauter Sr. He worked in security at Konica-Minolta in Brooks. He coached for many years in recreational leagues and high school for football, basketball and baseball. He loved to play pool and bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosine Coulter and Mary Moore.

He is survived by one daughter, Jamie Sauter of Bardstown; two sons, Benjamin “Ben” (Lakeesha) Sauter Jr. and Daniel Sauter, both of Bardstown; two brothers, John (Janet) Sauter Jr. and Robert Sauter, both of Bardstown; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family followed his wishes for cremation. A memorial visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
