Obituary: Caroline Johnson, 83, Bardstown

Caroline Johnson, 83, of Bardstown, died Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Signature Healthcare at Colonial in Bardstown. She was a Baptist by faith and attended Millcreek Baptist Church. She was a devoted, loving, and fun mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a great cook, but her greatest hobby, and where she excelled the most, was square dancing. Not only was she a member of Hardin County Fair Squares, but it is also where she met her husband John, and a passion that they shared together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert J. and Wylma Cox; three siblings, David Cox, Elmira Cain, and Audrey Foley; and one grandson, William Lee.

She is survived by her husband, John M. Johnson; one daughter, Diana Cox-Farnsley (Brian); one son, William Ray Webb (JoAnn); three sisters, Daphne McCubbins, Opal Day, and Linda Schreiber (Bill); one brother, Hubert Cox; three grandchildren, Chantel Johnston, Shanna Lockwood and Cheryl Webb; four great-grandchildren, Heather, MaKayla, Brook and Cody; and one great-great-granddaughter, Lennon.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Maraman-Billings Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Veatch officiating. Burial is in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the funeral home.

The Maraman-Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville is in charge of arrangements.
