Child flown to Louisville hospital after injured in Murrays Run crash
Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, 12:48 p.m. — A four-year-old boy suffered face and head injuries after the car he was in struck a tree in the 6000 block of Murrays Run Road south of Fairfield. The accident was reported just before noon Wednesday. The boy was in the front passenger seat with a seat belt on at the time of the accident. The child suffered facial trauma and lacerations. Nelson County EMS transported the child to Flaget Memorial Hospital where medical crews were met by a medical helicopter. The child was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville for treatment. Two others in the vehicle refused treatment by EMS. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
