Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, 1 p.m. — For Bardstown Cable subscribers, there’s a new offering of local news and information available – BRTV, channel 19.

BRTV launched Tuesday evening on the Bardstown Cable system, and will continue to carry local programming every weeknight evening following the WKYT Lexington news.

The owners of 1320 WBRT — known as your “Hometown Radio Station” have signed an agreement with the city of Bardstown to be your “Hometown Television Station” by providing programming from 6:30 to 10 p.m. weeknights on cable channel 19.

BRTV’s programming is provided in partnership with Channel 6 in Lebanon and its owner, Gary White, Stratton said.

WBRT plans to take some of the radio station’s local radio programs and add a video element to them, according to managing partner Roth Stratton.

“We believe this will give those  who cannot listen to WBRT’s programming during day a chance to hear and see it as well,” he said.

Radio elements will be recorded for later playback, he said, but not all of BRTV’s content will be recorded. BRTV has the capability of broadcasting live from the WBRT studios for breaking news, severe weather and election night coverage, Stratton said.

Here’s the programming you can expect to see this week on BRTV:
