Charles ‘Wrinks’ Shepherd, 61, Dayhoit

Charles “Wrinks” Shepherd, 61, of Dayhoit, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.

He was a Vietnam era Army veteran serving two tours in Vietnam and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Shepherd, and a sister, Joanne Hancock.

He is survived by two brothers, James Shepherd of Williamsburg and Bobby (Phyllis) Shepherd of Mt. Washington; a sister, Margaret (Joe) Woods of Cox’s Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Visitation is Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church at Dayhoit with burial in Asher Cemetery in Watts Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
