Sara T. Yeaste, 85, Bardstown

Sara T. Yeaste, 85, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Windsor Gardens in Bardstown.  She was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Fayette County and moved to Bardstown with two daughters and husband, the Rev. Kit Yeaste in 1961. She retired from the State of Kentucky where she worked as a secretary in the correction department in Bardstown for more than 20 years.

She was a member of Nelson County Senior Homemaker’s Club, and Bardstown Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.  She felt she had a special calling to inspire children to grow strong and become knowledgeable in their faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B.H. and Alma Thomas.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Kit C. Yeaste of Bardstown; two daughters, Gayle (Glenn) Snider of Mansfield, Ohio, and Kitty (Dan) Higginbottom of Spring Hill,Florida; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.  She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all those who had good fortune to know her.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in BardstownCemetery. The Rev. Dylan Mays will officiate.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Barlow Funeral Home.
