Irene Turpack, 87, Lebanon

Irene Turpack, 87, of Lebanon, formerly of  Mass., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Life Care Center of Bardstown.

Born Feb. 21, 1924, in Carbondale, Penn., she lived her adult years in Uxbridge, Mass., until five years ago when she moved to live with her family in Kentucky. She formerly worked at General Electric in Carbondale, Penn., and was a Russian Orthodox by faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Ference and a number of siblings.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Leo Hamelin of Lebanon; a brother, Frank (Rose) Ference of Carbondale, Penn.,; two granddaughters, Nicole (Philip) Griffith and Lauren Hamelin both of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

No public services are planned.  Cremation was chosen.  Expressions of sympathy may go to the Marion County Humane Society, 1105 Highway 208, Lebanon, KY 40033.
