Myrtle I. Lucas, 73, Bardstown

Myrtle I. Lucas, 72, of Bardstown, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  She was born April 24, 1939, in Bardstown. She was a homemaker and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Goldie Hillard; a daughter, Deborah Lucas; a great-grandson, Connor Fuchs; two brothers, William Hillard and James Hillard; and two sisters, Barbara Jean Miles and Maudie Hanson.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Lucas of Bardstown; three sons, Danny (Maureen) Lucas and Thomas Lucas, both of Bardstown, and Timothy (Jenny) Lucas of Lindenhurst, Ill.; two daughters, Juanita (Mike) Grohnke of Elizabethtown and Susan (George) Fuchs of Lindenhurst, Ill.; four sisters, Louise Moore, Wanda Sue Rubino, Mary Nalley, and Carolyn Hillard; three brothers, George “Lupie” Hillard, Billy Ray Hillard, and Donald Hillard; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday Sept. 26, 2011, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tim Lucas will officiate.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. at Barlow Funeral Home.
