Two injured, airlifted from crash scene in front of NC Fairgrounds
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, 9:30 a.m. — The drivers of two cars involved in a “t-bone” type collision were airlifted from the crash scene in front of the Nelson County Fairgrounds Wednesday morning.
Two medical helicopters were called to a landing zone set up by the Bardstown Fire Department at the fairgrounds. EMS transported the injured, a 24-year-old man with suspected right leg fracture and a 60-year-old woman with an open fracture of both bones in one leg, to the landing zone. They were flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
The accident was called in to Nelson County Dispatch about 8:20 Wednesday morning. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
