Elizabeth I. ‘Betty’ Riggs, 71, Bardstown
Elizabeth I. “Betty” Riggs, 71, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at her residence. She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Nelson County and was a member of St. Joseph Parish.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Lorenzo and Margaret Emily Miles Riggs; a brother, Robert Phillip “Bobby” Riggs; and two sisters, Pamela Joan Peters and Patricia Ann “Terry” Harned.
She is survived by four brothers, Joe Donald Riggs and Mike (Trish) Riggs, all of Bardstown, John T. (Melissa) Riggs of Botland and Tommy (Anne) Riggs of Boston; five sisters, Irene Riggs, Evelyn Settles, Jeannie (Lonnie) Rigsby, all of Bardstown, Faye (Scott) Medley of Gainesville, Fla. and Marie (Derriel) Culver of New Haven, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday and after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Friday evening with Deacon Dick Walsh presiding.
