Bardstown Fire responding to smoke report near Nelson County landfill

hursday, Oct. 6, 2011, 7:45 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded about 6:50 p.m. to investigate a report of smoke in the area of the Nelson County Landfill, 1025 Old Airport Road. Caller said they see a large amount of black smoke in the area. Firefighters determined some refuse at the landfill was burning. The fire was extinguished and the refused was buried. Firefighters were at the scene about 50 minutes.
