Obituary: William Monroe ‘Wilson’ Morris, 79, New Haven

William Monroe “Wilson” Morris, 79, of New Haven, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

WILLIAM MONROE “WILSON” MORRIS

He was born Oct. 18, 1945, to the late William Franklin and Dorothy Rita Bryan Morris. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired from General Electric in Louisville as a laborer,

He served four years in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven.

In addition to his parents Wilson was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Morris and Jimmy Morris.

Survivors include one daughter, Terri (Robert) Spriggs of Bardstown; one son, Jerry (Angel Wells) Morris of New Haven, three sisters, Theresa “Sissy” Clark and Kathy (Ricky) Miles, both of New Haven, and Martha Rose (Lex) Martin of Bloomfield; five brothers, Mike Morris, T.C. (Donna) Morris, and Ray (Lisa) Morris, all of New Haven, and Bobby (Debbie) Morris anmd Frankie (Laurie) Morris, both of Bardstown; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at St. Catherine Church in New ?Haven with the Rev. Kirby Rust officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel.
