Obituary: Barbara Osbourne Quam, 87, Bardstown

Barbara Osbourne Quam, 87, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

She spent her career as a nurse, x-ray technician and mammogram technician. In her retirement she focused on what she loved most, gardening. She became a Master Gardener and her home was featured on the 2009 Garden Tour.

We will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and patience she received from her caregivers. It was only with their support that we were able to keep her in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Laura and Thomas Martin Osbourne; three sisters, Lucinda Strange, Betty O’Daniel and Sarah Mitchner; four brothers; Richard Osbourne, Donnie Osbourne, JT Osbourne and Bob Osbourne; and one great-granddaughter Adra Dickerson.

She is survived by three daughters, Rita Clements (Pat Clements), Mary Ann Hoback (Bo) and Elise Green (Jeannie Ryan); two sons, Tommy Green (Annie Metcalf) and Martin Green (Merney); three sisters, Nancy Tatum, Imelda Woodruff and Sally Milburn; one brother, Damion Osbourne; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The memorial service is noon Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Hom with the Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial is in St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial gifts can be made to Hospice of Nelson County or the Kentucky Home Extension Master Gardener Scholarship fund; or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
