Obituary: William Henry Ballard, 77, Bardstown

William Henry Ballard, 77, of Bardstown, died at his home Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. He was born June 20, 1947, in Bardstown to the late JT and Mary Lee Clan Ballard.

In addition to his parents, he wass preceded in death by one brother, Joe Ballard.

He worked at several gas stations over the years including, Maple Hill Tire Store, Blair’s Food Mart, and 150 Quick Stop. He enjoyed collecting trinkets of all kinds. He enjoyed the Grand Ole Opry and Lincoln Jamboree. He was of the Catholic faith.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hosparus for the special care they gave him.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Jeanette “Sissy” Ballard of Shepherdsville; special friends and caregiver Thomas “Googie” Linton; and friend Ray Young; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Kirby Rust officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial is in the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in New Hope.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
