Obituary: Ronald Arnold ‘Ron’ ‘Sparky’ Madaffer, 86, Taylorsville

Ronald Arnold “Ron” “Sparky” Madaffer, 86, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Detroit to the late Peter Jospeh and Marguerite Peggy Jenkins Madaffer.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of All Saints Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 303. He loved to work in his yard, doing paintings and puzzles, and enjoyed spending his Friday nights at the Taylorsville Moose Lodge 2127.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Madaffer.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay “Sandy” Clemons Madaffer; two sons, Tony Madaffer and Rick (Norma) Madaffer, both of Naples, Fla.; one stepson, Danny Clemons of Louisville; one sister, Darlene Madaffer Manuel (Patrick) of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Bonita (Ronnie) Floyd of Taylorsville and Pam (Larry) Dowell of Louisville; six grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.

The family respectfully chose cremation. There will be no public services.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
