Obituary: Hillman Jerome ‘Jerry’ Blanford, 75, Bardstown

Hillman Jerome “Jerry” Blanford, 75, of Bardstown, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1949, in Lebanon. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved fishing, hunting, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hillman “Fuzzy” and Mary Mudd Blanford; and his one sister, Frances Kateri “Teri” Edelen.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Kaye Blanford, Amanda Lynn Blanford, and Danielle Avery; two sons, Jarrod Blanford and Wesley Blanford; one sister, Mary Dianne Bleemel (Mike); one brother, Pat Blanford;11 grandchildren, Hayden, Zoe, Emma, Ryley, Ellie, Blake, Jacob, Grayson, Lincoln, Connor and Dawson; one great-grandchild, Lawsyn; the mother of his children, Paula Blanford; and several nieces and nephews.-

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. J. Randall Hubbard officiiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Jan. 31, 2025, and 9-10:15 .m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to the Humane Society of Nelson County or Masses.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
