Obituary: Glen Ballard, 59, Bardstown
Glen Ballard, 59, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born June 22, 1965, in Bardstown to Joseph R. and Nora Marie Downs Ballard. He was a farmer and an employee of Barton 1792 Distillery. He was a member of the Nelson County Beef Cattle Association, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended Southeast Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting> He he loved his family and God.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Anthony Ballard.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol Lyvers Ballard; three daughters, Nikki (Wesley) Parkerson, Kaitlyn Ballard and Clara Ballard, all of Bardstown; his parents, Joe and Nora Ballard of Bardstown; two sisters, Karen (Jody) Harmon, Donna (Robert) Smith, both of Bardstown; two brothers, Wayne (Rhonda) Ballard of St. Francis and Pat (Katrina) Ballard of Bardstown; a grandbaby on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is noon Friday, Jan; 31, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hubbard and Bro. Kevin Lutz officiating. Burial is in St. Thomas Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 and 9:30 to noon Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contribution towards funeral expenses.
