Obituary: Imogene Chesser, 69, Taylorsville
Imogene Chesser, 69, of Taylorsville, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born May 26, 1955, in Breathitt County to the late Ruby and Elzia Hudson Couch. She was a giving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed being outdoors looking for deer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Robin Couch, Elsie Mae Noble and Joy Keith.
She is survived by her husband by of 51 years, Orville Lee Chesser of Taylorsville; two daughters, Amanda (Tommy) Upchurch and Crystal (James) Yates, both of Taylorsville; two sons, Donald Chesser and Stephen (Tammy) Chesser, both of Taylorsville; two sisters, Betty (Jimmy) Ragsdale of Oklahoma and Terri Vires of Taylorsville; five brothers, Bobby (Jody) Couch of Louisville, Stevie (Carolyn) Couch of Springfield, Eugene (Margaret) Couch of Bloomfield, Carl (Maudie) Gross of Arkansas and Matt Gross of Georgia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, friends and family.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with Bro. Chad Goodlett officiating. Burial is in Valley Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at the funeral home.
