Obituary: Hobert Beavers, 91, Bloomfield
Hobert Beavers, 91, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at his home. He was born June 11, 1933, in Washington County to the late Roy and Hattie Chesser Beavers. He was a retired bus driver for the Nelson County Board of Education, having driven for 38-1/2 years. He was a farmer and was a member of Van Buren Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Nelson County for the care they gave Mr. Beavers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Coulter Beavers; one son, Jackie Beavers; one son-in-law, Jeff Blair; three grandchildren, Brandon Beavers, Morgan Beavers and Joshlyn Curry; and five siblings.
He is survived by three daughters, Betty (Darrell) Chesser and Peggy Blair, both of Bloomfield, and Patricia Malvena (Ed) Curry of Taylorsville; one son, Windil (Elaina) Beavers of Chaplin; two children they raised, Karen (Bobby) Hardin and Vincent Beavers; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Michael Morris officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
