Obituary: Charles David Hood, 62, Bardstown
Charles David Hood, 62, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1962, in Spencer County to the late Ancil and Margie Weakley Hood.

He was an employee of Barton 1792 Distillery. He enjoyed working with his brother and nephews. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed going fishing, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tabitha Murray; the mother of his children, Mary Ann Murray; two sisters, Betty Jean Hood and Nancy Lois Hood; and one brother, William Darrell Hood.
He is survived by three daughters, Tina (Vernon XYZ) Murray and Katrina (Dre) Murray, both of Bardstown and Teaundra (Orlando) Miller of Danville; five sisters, Mary Heath of Bardstown, Frances (Mark) Thornsberry) of New Haven, Elizabeth (Scott) Hardin and Pattie (Bradley) Taylor, both of Bloomfield, and Sissy Lee (Keith Walls) Woford; two brothers, Ancil Lee Hood of Springfield and Rufus (Christy) Hood of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one special nephew, Edward “Dirt” Heath; and a special friend, Sheryl Young. He was a father figure to many others.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. David Walker officiating. Burial is in Bardstown Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, and 8:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the funeral home.
