Obituary: Francis Scott Willett, 55, Saint Francis

Francis Scott Willett, 55, of Saint Francis, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2025, at his home. He was born Jan. 23, 1970, in Nelson County. He formerly owned and operated J & S Power Seeding in Bardstown. He enjoyed dogs, tractors, cows, and cars. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one niece, Tasha Nicole Douglas; and one sister-in-law, Pam Willett.

He is survived by his fiancé’, Mona Crouch; three daughters, Samantha Hamilton (Alex), Danielle Willett (Tyler Cissell), and Olivia “Tadpole” Moore (Willy), all of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Lane Hamilton, Waylon Cissell, Davis Cissell, Tate Hamilton, Parker Collins Moore and Cooper Jett Moore; his parents, Freddie and Mary Ann Newton Willett of Bardstown; one sister, Denise Douglas (David) of Bardstown; two brothers, Keith Willett (Rhonda) of Loretto and Todd Willett (Lynn) of Greenbriar; two stepchildren, Jessica Bishop (Brandon) and Trevor Taylor, both of Cox’s Creek; five stepgrandchildren, Braylee Bishop, Jaxton Bishop, Lilly Taylor, Ethan Taylor and Hutson Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with Deacon Joseph Dant officiating. Burial is in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Pallbearers are Keith Willett, Todd Willett, Joe Paul Hawkins, Albert Hawkins, Jimmy Mattingly, and Jamie Yates. Honorary Pallbearer is Mikie Robey.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
