Obituary: Jason C. Amburgey, 52, Bardstown
Jason C. Amburgey, 52, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at U of L Health, Louisville. He was born April 26, 1972, to James Amburgey and Nancy Brown Andrake.

He was a 1990 graduate of Meade County High School. He went on to graduate from the Kentucky State Police Academy (Class 320) in 2002. He served as Brandenburg City Police Chief as well as an Irvington City Assistant Police Chief. Most recently. he worked on the road as a truck driver.
He was an avid motorcycle rider and photographer. He loved riding the roads alongside his faithful companion, Jess in her sidecar and goggles. They could often be found riding around town or taking adventures out to see the sights.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ed Andrake; his maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his parents; four sons, Justin (Makenzie) Amburgey, Jordan (Tessa) Amburgey, Sean Amburgey, and Jackson Amburgey; one sister Misty (Shawn) Gardner; five grandchildren, Isabella and Ellis Amburgey, Forest Amburgey, Greyson Wood, Reighlynn Wood and Baby Amburgey due May 2025; two nieces Peyton Russell and Ava Gardner; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation is noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Chism Family Funeral Home.
The funeral is 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 in the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove with Bro. Ben Underhill officiating.
The family would prefer expressions of sympathy be sent as contributions to Barktown Rescue, 259 Petersburg Road, Boston, KY 40107, a beloved organization for the Amburgeys.
