Obituary: Myrtle York, 92, Bardstown

Myrtle York, 92, of Bardstown, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2025, at her home. She was born June 5, 1932, in Madison County to the late Rufus and Frankie Gregory.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, working jigsaw puzzles and word search.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Loyd Harrison and John York; three daughters, Evelyn Howard, Vivian Gunter and Linda Sue Gill; three sons, Lloyd Stanley Harrison, David Harrison and Michael Wayne Harrison; and three sisters, Geraldine, Reva and Bernice; and three brothers, Ernest, Gillis and Oscar.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Harrison Challoner (Vernon) and Mary Jane Lamb; three sons, Daniel Harrison, Matthew Harrison (Laura) and William Joseph Harrison; one sister, Eva Lakes; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen.

McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington is in charge of arrangements.
