Obituary: Shirley Ann Cambron, 83, Manton

Shirley Ann Cambron, 83, of Manton, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at Bardstown Health and Rehab Center. She was born March 16, 1941, in Saint Francis. She was a former employee of Walmart in Bardstown and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Manton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin “Sonny” Cambron; her parents, Joseph Adrian “Ado” and Mary Edith “Sis” Mattingly Simms; two sisters, Ruth Simms and Naomi Simms Mullins; one brother, William Robert Simms; three grandchildren, Matthew Ballard, Christopher Ballard and Alyssa Kelty.

Survivors include four children, two daughters, Patricia Ballard of Bardstown and Lisa McCarter (Steve) of Sevierville, Tenn.; two sons, Charles Cambron, Jr. of Manton and John Cambron (Michelle) of Springfield;
three sisters, Joyce (John), Bonnie (David), and Virginia; two brothers, J.A. (Edna) and Gerald (Polly); six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton with the Rev. Augustine Judd, O.P. officiating with burial in the church cemetery.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of services.
