Joseph ‘Poochie’ Young, 59, Bardstown
Joseph “Poochie” Young, 59, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born March 31, 1952 in Fairfield. He was a former employee of American Fuji Seal, Jim Beams and a server at Capital Plaza in Frankfort. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Fairfield, enjoyed playing horseshoes and was a Kentucky Wildcat Fan.
He is preceded in deathy by his parents, Betty Bernice and Joseph Norris Young.
He is survived by six children, Joseph Gerton, Camisha Young, Chantel Monie, Rozlyn Young, Sonja Williams, Michael Woodson; a stepdaughter, Brook Williams; four sisters, Patricia (Godfrey) Kaufman, Evelyn Young, Loretta Young, Shirlyn Young; four brothers, Stephen Young, Gary Young, Robert Young and Monte Ray (Angie) Young; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; his fiancee, Tammy Williams; a special friend, Judy Carter; and a caregiver, Sonya Downs.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Second Baptist Church of Fairfield with the Rev. Calvin Hollaway officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Second Baptist Church of Fairfield.
