Obituary: Dale Snellen, 76, Culvertown

Dale Snellen, 76, of Culvertown, died Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He was born in Samuels Feb. 19,1949, to Vernon Paul and Anna Beatrice Biven Snellen. He was of Catholic faith.

He retired from CSX Railroad and was a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of the KHPA, where he enjoyed his favorite pastime of pitching horseshoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Monte; one brother-in-law, Rob Quelle; and his grandson, Isaac Paul Snellen.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Arlene Snellen; two sons, Vernie (Anne) Snellen and Kevin Snellen; three sisters, Anita Quelle of Cincinnati, Verna (Bobby) Guthrie of Big Clifty and Karen (Rudy) Pinkston of Deatsville; nine grandchildren whom he loved with his whole heart, Emily, Chase, Noah, Caden, Madison, Cruz, Carter, Everly, and Emmett; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To honor his wishes, cremation was chosen with private graveside services at a later date.
